Shawn McDonie is my husband of 28 years as of this writing.  He was born and raised in the Appalachian region and has strong roots there.  He and I met there during high school band.   We were the classic high school sweethearts.  He went off to the military after he graduated high school.  Eventually, after I graduated highshool we got back together and it wasn't long until we got married.   Being married to him has been amazing, and he is a fantastic husband and provider.  He and I have two children together, who are now in their teens.  They also seriously adore their Dad btw.  We currently live in northeast Ohio with our kids and 5 cats.  I could say a lot of lovely things about my husband since he is my mate, but let me tell you about his writing since that is why you are here.

He started writing out of a passion for a well-written story with many layers.  He has always analyzed every story and movie we would watch.  He hungered for more.  You will find that in his developed in his books.  There are layers upon layers of threads and backstory.  I have been privileged to read his original writings that will never be published.  I have watched his writing ability explode with ferocity. 

In a short time, it refined into the first book that was written with the intent to publish, which is Hope's Choice.  The book is an excellent read and will launch you into being absorbed by the vampires of Medford.  You will get lost in wondering which clan is your favorite and you identify with the most.   I had stopped reading fiction years ago, but reading my husband's books have brought the joy of pleasure reading back into my life.  I hope you enjoy all of his works.
